Welcome to the Glenside Fire Protection District Fire Prevention website. The Fire Prevention Bureau is committed to creating a safe community through education, engineering, and fire code enforcement.  The bureau provides four major activities: Plan Reviews, General Inspections, Code Development and Enforcement, and Administrative Support.

Our Plan Reviewers are responsible for working with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that adequate fire department access and water supply is provided for new and newly expanded facilities; fire protection equipment and devices are properly installed; and processes are properly protected. Once in place, installations are inspected for compliance with the approved plans.

Our General Inspections provide a broad range of requests for fire and life safety services.  Guidance is provided on interpretation and application of the fire code for new and existing businesses. Fire Prevention Specialists respond to requests for general fire inspections, citizen concerns regarding possible unsafe conditions or fire code violations, and interact with other Village departments to help citizens with code related issues.

Our focus is on fire prevention and protection for citizens and the business community.
